Regional Sports Facility

Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility opened for business in 2010 and is now one of Scotland’s most popular sports venues. The centre offers state of the art sports and leisure facilities, gyms, athletics hall, football arenas and badminton courts.

The £30m centre is a key landmark on the Ravenscraig site and one of the major successes of development activity to date. Featuring a football and sports hall with 400 spectator seats and an athletics hall, the facility is used by professional athletes and everyday gym-goers. Major events have also taken place at the centre, from championship-level boxing and judo masterclasses to national youth volleyball finals.

The indoor athletics area has six lanes with throw and jump areas. The multi sports hall contains nine badminton courts with one hundred spectator seats for sport events and competitions. There are two spacious studios for fitness classes and the gym boasts more than one hundred stations, all using the best gym equipment. There are also tennis courts and a variety of football pitches.

For those feeling peckish after a busy workout, there is a relaxing café where hot food and Starbucks coffee can be enjoyed.

The sports facility has been delivered to be accessible for all. There are disabled parking spaces and automatic entrance doors with lifts throughout the building.

In 2017, the British Transplant Games was held at the RSF, with Ravenscraig Ltd serving as a proud sponsor. Held over a number of days, the event saw 750 athletes take part in sporting activities ranging from archery and athletics to swimming and tennis.
